Ball winding, and surfing pup

Look at the fun I had this weekend with my new toys. I had a few skeins that needed to be winded into neat little balls, including Charles' yarn (still haven't decided on a lace pattern for it). That's about the only exercise I had this weekend, except for a dip in the pool.

Speaking of dip in the pool, I think you'll agree that Sophie has recovered well from her broken toes...

Wow! You sure have enough for several project! I can't wait to see what you decide. Have you thought about doing the Candle Flame Shawl from KnitPicks? You have the yarn for it. :-)

Lucky Sophie! She has a pool for hot Summer days!

Charles: Yes it was very hot in Toronto this weekend: 98 degrees! Sophie usually likes water, and she didn't seem to mind surfing either.
Jason: Candle Flame seems a bit more ambitious than I am willing to in my first lacing project. I'd be content with a pattern that is less than 8 rows that repeat, and with lots of knit and purl. Hmmmm sounds like Violets? ;)

You should definitely do "Violets". It's smallish but with lots of interesting things going on. The honeybees are challenging and fun! :-)

I'm glad Sophie is enjoying the cool waters again! And your yarns are simply delicious. Do you always wind them up before you knit?

Thanks Roadside!

Elisabetha: Usually I would roll them into balls, by hand. I got tired of doing that (and envious of Kenny's gadgets), and got my own winder. If I would have been as smart as Charles, I would have looked on e-bay first: he paid $15 US for his!
